Blasphemy and Desecration

On a dark cold wintry night of January 95, two blasphemous members, Darkmortem (vocal / keyboards) and Lord Trebor (guitar / piano) formed ARCHAEAN HARMONY. At times other musicians joined the band, but, probably, the band's dark philosophy frightened them, as they left it after some time. In March of 1997 Adrameleck (guitar) and a session drum programmer were added to the line-up (afterwards the last one was dismissed for lack of dedication and for problems caused). This line-up together with a session bassist Eblis (ACHIRAL) released the demo entitled 'Resentment of an Evanesce Aeon' This demo-tape contains the very first songs of ARCHAEAN HARMONY that were arranged during the summer 1997. The music is quite melodious and dismal, but at the same time aggressive. One can find mystical acoustics and atmospheric parts in it. For the time being the band is working on new material that is expected to be faster, darker, more technical and melodious. ARCHAEAN HARMONY is composed of only followers of the Left Hand Path. They are practioners of the Black Arts, and agree with most of A. La Vey's writings, although they are not part of the Church of Satan. These men say that they are too individual to be part of any organization.
- I practically know nothing about your country. Please, tell a little about life in Malta, its culture and, perhaps, some interesting traditions.
Darkmortem: - Malta is an Euro-Mediterranean country, it consists of 5 small islands, also known as the Maltese Islands. It is found, a few miles down Sicily, which Malta was part of a few thousands years ago, until the countries were separated due to nature's course, as you know the Mediterranean has lots of earthquakes. As for culture, we have a western European culture, mostly influenced by the English culture, this is mainly due that the English were the last governors of the islands, which they ruled for nearly 200 years and left in the late 1970's. Our main language is Maltese, which is one of the oldest languages in Europe, but also English is an official language, replacing Italian during the British rule. Malta is a christian country, like all the other Euro-Med countries, and we have a long history for fighting Muslims. The knights of S. John ruled Malta in the middle ages, and so they left whole medieval cities, treasures, and of course traditions behind them. Since Malta was ruled by many different peoples, one can find a good mix of history, and also one can see the result in the people. One can see a number of Maltese with non Mediterranean features and a good mix, like euro-med with blue or green eyes and blond hair. But the Maltese have always kept their white descendantcy. An interesting thing that is now proven is that from Malta started the western-European civilization. One can find the oldest known temples here, older than the pyramids of Egypt. As for traditions, here are no interesting ones, all pagan traditions were lost by the rule of the Knights, and all what's left are christian traditions, which don't interest me at all. Life here is very expansive, no poverty, economy is very good, and life has a high standard. It can be a bit boring sometime, since it is very small, there is no many places to go, and we don't have woods, forests or mountains, just sea. Since it is a Mediterranean island, it is a tourist attracting country, so in summer we are invaded with people from all over Europe, both western and eastern and from north America.
- I'm personally not acquaint with A. La Vey's writings. But as far as I know many people have negative attitude towards him and his thoughts. What A. La Vey's ideas do you accept?
- I can understand that people in ex-USSR don't like much LaVey for the reason that he is an American. (It is not always the case - ed.) As for ourselves we are not against LaVey or the Church of Satan. We agree with most of his views, mostly because LaVey was influenced by F. Nietzche on the philosophical approach of life. And we practise modern Satanism. We are NOT against any Satanic order or views who are not in support of LaVey, we are against christianity, and I don't see the point in people with Satanic views fighting against each other.
- Are there some satanic organizations / collectives in Malta?
- No. Malta
is a place too risky for such stuff. The christian church is very dominant
here, apart from their own media resources they also have a great backing
from all the medias, and so often we are told about the evil bad people
who worship Satan and other bullshit like that. So Satanists' work is
underground here, which for me is the best thing, since nobody bothers
us.
- What will happen to a man in Malta if he is known to be a satanist? Is it a crime according to the criminal law of your country?
- Nobody tolerates Satanism here. Satanists are seen as lunatics and criminals, because people are brainwashed by the lies and stupidity of the christian church. Satanism is not a crime here, because we are a free country, but if someone is caught performing any Satanic Rites is arrested!!!! It is the usual bullshit. The law says a lot of things here, but the only law practised is christianity.
- Can you say that you are a searcher of the Truth?
- I am the truth. I only search within me, outside me is just lies.
- What aim do you practise the Black Arts with? Does it help you to become stronger or does it help you in your inner development?
- I didn't become a Satanist, I simply discovered who I am. So it is just a normal thing in me to live the life I am living. As for the aims, well, man needs rituals, as magick is the means that than change the course of life in a way. Rituals are part of my believes, a part of myself, and a means to make my life more complete.
- Do you make sacrifices during your rituals?
- NO. Sacrifices are not magickal activities. (I think this affirmation is not right - ed.)
- Do you consider (as many other followers of the Left Hand Path) that you are a god-like person?
- I am GOD!
- Can you say that self-development is a purpose of your life?
- Of course, you can't just sit there and do nothing. We born, and grow, not only physically but most worthy mentally. I don't just look at life as it passes by, and since we live in a society one has to manage to live in this jungle. Satanism is not just rituals, but how to live and not succumb to difficulties, and obtain what ever you want from this stinking world.
- Do you take interest in some ancient pagan cults?
- Yes. Being in an old country with a great history it is very important that we take interest. We learn a lot of the pagan history of our country and nearby ones when in school.
- Do you have the use of narcotics?
- We are no drug addicts. But I don't see anything wrong with people using drugs.Copyright: 2001 Werewolves Records.
